Project Engineer / Project Manager

  • Supervise and mentor other engineers in the mechanical department.
  • Design Engineer for greenfield 100 MW Gas Turbine-Generator installation.
  • Lead Mechanical for the installation of a Twin Roll Press to replace Drum Washer in Pulp Mill.
  • Lead Mechanical / Process Engineer for new TAD tissue machine ($150M). Completed study, capital cost estimate and detailed design. Developed commissioning plan and executed commissioning on site for the tissue machine and other equipment.
  • Lead Mechanical / Process Engineer for paper mill boiler project. New 250,000 lb/hr process boiler. Developed plant P&IDs and mass balance, piping design, specified boiler feed pump and other equipment.
  • Shutdown scheduler/coordinator for several clients. Assist client Maintenance Planners and Engineers in developing their shutdown schedules. Develop master shutdown schedule from sub-schedules, including levelling of critical resources. Provided MS Project training for clients.
  • Design Engineer on rebuild of 150 MW power generation plant. Completed peer review of all control valve and pump calculations. Piping layout and 3D model coordination.
  • Several biomass co-generation studies for sawmills and OSB mills.
  • Twice provided pump training for client engineering and maintenance staff. Combination of Reliability Engineering experience and designing many new systems provides well rounded knowledge for specifying reliable pumps. Trouble shooting of pumps for clients.
  • OSB mills: Designed large thermal oil system for OSB mill, including mass/energy balance and hydraulic analysis. Several wax and resin system designs.
